Water Control & Safety System
Comprehensive water distribution system with pressure control, tempering, and safety features for commercial buildings.
System Overview
A complete water safety and distribution system ensures reliable, safe water delivery throughout commercial and residential buildings. This comprehensive RBM solution integrates pressure reducing valves (2581.A) for consistent pressure control, ActivFlo water conditioning to reduce scale formation and prevent corrosion, tempering valves (T08.A) and thermostatic mixing valves (T16.A, T16.B) for safe temperature management, and solar hot water protection valves (FPV, D06) for system protection. Together, these components create a safe, efficient water distribution system that protects both the water supply and building occupants while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Benefits
- Protection against scalding injuries
- Consistent water pressure throughout the building
- Extended lifespan of plumbing fixtures
- Compliance with health and safety regulations
- Reduced water waste and energy consumption
- Reduced scale formation and corrosion prevention
How It Works
Understanding the complete water distribution and safety cycle
Water Entry & Pressure Control
Water enters the building through the main supply line. Rinox Plus M pressure reducing valves (2581.A) automatically regulate incoming water pressure to safe, consistent levels throughout the building, protecting plumbing fixtures from damage and ensuring optimal flow rates.
Water Conditioning
After pressure regulation, water flows through ActivFlo hard water conditioners which condition the water supply to reduce scale formation and prevent corrosion. This second stage extends the lifespan of plumbing fixtures and appliances before temperature mixing occurs.
Temperature Management & Safety
Following water conditioning, tempering valves (T08.A) and thermostatic mixing valves (T16.A, T16.B) blend hot and cold water to maintain safe, consistent temperatures. These valves automatically adjust to prevent scalding injuries while ensuring adequate hot water supply, with pre-plumbed cabinet options (T16.B) available for easy installation.
Distribution Network
Conditioned and temperature-controlled water flows through the building's distribution network to various outlets including taps, showers, and appliances. Consistent pressure and temperature are maintained at all points, ensuring reliable water delivery throughout the building.
Solar System Protection
Solar hot water protection valves operate separately from the main water distribution system. Frost protection valves (FPV) automatically drain water when temperatures drop to prevent freezing damage, while thermosyphon arrestor valves (D06) prevent reverse circulation, maintaining system efficiency and protecting solar collectors in solar hot water systems.
System Components
Each component plays a crucial role in water safety and distribution
Pressure Reducing Valves
Pressure reducing valves are essential for maintaining safe water pressure throughout the building. They protect plumbing fixtures from damage, reduce water waste, and ensure consistent flow rates. RBM pressure reducing valves feature precision control and reliable operation.
Tempering Valves
Tempering valves automatically mix hot and cold water to deliver safe, consistent temperatures. They prevent scalding injuries while ensuring adequate hot water supply, making them essential for healthcare facilities, schools, and commercial buildings.
Thermostatic Mixing Valves
Thermostatic mixing valves provide precise temperature control by automatically blending hot and cold water to maintain safe, consistent outlet temperatures. They are essential for preventing scalding injuries and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in commercial and residential buildings.
Solar Hot Water Protection Valves
Solar hot water protection valves safeguard solar heating systems from damage. Frost protection valves prevent freezing damage by automatically draining water when temperatures drop, while thermosyphon arrestor valves prevent reverse circulation, maintaining system efficiency and protecting solar collectors.
Water Conditioning
Water conditioning systems condition the water supply to reduce scale formation and prevent corrosion. These systems extend the lifespan of plumbing fixtures and appliances.
